    Academic Success

    The Frontier Board of Education is committed to the academic success of all students. In an advisory role, we will monitor

    • Updating of the District’s Comprehensive Education Plan (CDEP) and the Strategic Plan.
    • Support the Big Picture Academy by providing the funding and staffing for this program.
    • Support the Improvement of the High School Graduation rate by the enhancement of the Pathways Options, the HS NEST Program, and partnerships with SUNY
    • Support the new procedures to Improve Student Attendance

    Safety & Security

    • The District will address and incorporate specific improvements to enhance safety in our schools.  These will include but are not limited to the EVOLV system, an additional School Resource Officer (SRO), Car Rider Pro, and entry proof window film.

     Professional Development & Care

    • Continue to support the ongoing professional development and professional work dealing with social emotional well-being by continued participation with UB Trauma Informed Care program

     SOAR Project

    • Continue to ensure the successful completion of the $70.2 million dollar capital project

    Community Awareness and Communication

    • Investigation of restarting a District Community Education Program
    • Investigation of a District-employee responsible for Public Relations
    • Focus on the Communication Section of the Frontier's September 2023 Updated Strategic Plan. "Strategic Intent #3: By 2025, the Frontier District will be the primary and most accurate source of communication among Frontier students, parents, faculty, and staff.”


  • Role of the Board of Education

    The Frontier Board of Education is comprised of seven volunteer community members, each of whom is elected to serve a four year term.  Board members are not compensated for their service. 

    The primary function of the Board is to provide students with a quality educational program consistent with New York State's educational standards.  Specific responsibilities include:

    • Setting policy within state and federal law;
    • Determining educational policy;
    • Overseeing the administration of school programs and services;
    • Working closely with the Superintendent who is the chief executive officer of the district, responsible for the execution of all School Board decisions regarding the operation of the Frontier Central School District.
    • Working with administration to prepare an annual budget
