2020-2021 Advocacy Committee
Board Member: Davis Podkulski (chair)
Administrative Rep: Richard J. Hughes, Ed.D.
Collaborate with local and state agencies, organizations and individuals to advocate for programs and legislation to benefit our students. The committee will advise school board members of lobbying issues, pending legislation, and the stances of locally elected State officials on issues important to the Frontier School District. Members may serve as delegates to the NYS School Board Association and the Erie County School Board Association. Committee is responsible for recommending the content of an advocacy page on the district website, connecting with local media on state/federal issues that involve our district.
Due to COVID-19, the advocacy committee is not currently meeting. Below, find contact information for our elected officials. All residents are encouraged to contact your elected officials to voice your opinion. Also, find a quick and easy form letter from NYSSBA you can use.
Effective advocacy requires a unified effort in large numbers. Any and all participation is needed. For more information, or if you would like to become more involved, contact chairman Davis Podkulski, at firstname.lastname@example.org or 716-225-1252.
As many of you know, districts are facing serious financial losses as the proposed 20% aid holdbacks and they may become permanent cuts if our federal government does not enact an appropriate spending package. The Buffalo News has an article that can be found here: Buffalo News ArticleThere is also information on this link COVID Imapct Advisory Alert. Please consider contacting Federal Reps and possibly State Reps ASAP (although they can't do much of anything without federal assistance). I am happy to answer any questions you have.Best-Davis Podkulski
