    Board of Education 2024-2025 District Goals

    Adopted on October 15, 2024

    • Finance: Continue to maximize SOAR capital project funds in year four of the project and stay on time and budget while fully funding the 2023 and 2024 Capital Reserve Funds.
    • Human Resources:  The Board will review and support the District's Professional Development/Mentoring programs.
    • Safety and Security: The District is committed to the ongoing enhancement and improved security measures to keep all members of the Frontier Educational Community safe and secure.
    • Instruction:  
      • The District will finalize 9-12 enrollment (final cohort) of students at Big Picture Academy.
      • For the 2024-2025 school year, the District will utilize a comprehensive vertical plan for improving reading instruction K-12 utilizing evidence-based instructional practices and interventions to strengthen reading skills.
  • Role of the Board of Education

    The Frontier Board of Education is comprised of seven volunteer community members, each of whom is elected to serve a four year term.  Board members are not compensated for their service. 

    The primary function of the Board is to provide students with a quality educational program consistent with New York State's educational standards.  Specific responsibilities include:

    • Setting policy within state and federal law;
    • Determining educational policy;
    • Overseeing the administration of school programs and services;
    • Working closely with the Superintendent who is the chief executive officer of the district, responsible for the execution of all School Board decisions regarding the operation of the Frontier Central School District.
    • Working with administration to prepare an annual budget
