    of the National Honor Society

    Application Process:

    Eligibility to apply to the Frontier Central High School Chapter of the National Honor Society is determined by your cumulative grade point average which must meet or exceed our chapter’s standard for Scholarship. Currently, the minimum cumulative average is set at 92.0% through the second semester of your Junior year. You will be invited to apply during your Junior year.

    Leadership Roles:

    This includes but is not limited to any elected or appointed leadership positions you may have had.  Any type of responsibilities held in school, community, or work in which you were responsible for directing or motivating others should be included in your application.

    Community Service:

    These can be individual or group service projects done either through school, individually or other organizations you may be associated with.  These are activities that are done for or on behalf of others for which no compensation has been given.  A minimum of 15 hours of community service must be documented and verified in order to apply to NHS.

    Good Character:

    You will need to have an administrator review your record on a conduct verification from.  This is to verify that you have not received any major referrals throughout your years at Frontier High School.  You must also have four recommendations from teachers, a coach, advisor or other adult that has witnessed your conduct.  Once you turn in your application, your name will be placed on a shared list of applicants so that any faculty or adult in the building can comment in writing on your behavior or actions they have personally witnessed.   

    Once you apply, the advisor(s) of Frontier’s Chapter of the National Honor Society will collect and organize the applicant’s information.  Applications will then be submitted to the Faculty Council.  This is a group of teachers that have been select to review all applications.  The members of the Faculty Council are not shared with anyone except the principal.  The advisor(s) do not determine membership nor does any administrator. 

    Applying to Frontier’s Chapter of the National Honor Society does not guarantee acceptance.
