The National Honor Society was established to acknowledge and encourage academic achievement while recognizing other characteristics essential to citizens and democracy. The ideals of scholarship, leadership, service, and good character remain the core of acceptance in the National Honor Society today.
Eligibility to apply is determined by a cumulative grade point average which must meet or exceed our chapter’s standard for Scholarship. Currently the minimum cumulative average is set at 92.0%. If you are academically eligible you will receive an invitation to apply to Frontier’s Chapter of NHS after the second semester of your junior year.
Once you are invited to apply, you will need to submit additional information for consideration by the chapter’s Faculty Council which will carefully review your credentials. In addition to the Scholarship standard, membership in NHS is based on standards of Leadership, Service and Character.
To be selected as a member in the National Honor Society you must demonstrate on your application and through the evaluations from administration and recommendations submitted by faculty that you have met or exceeded these additional standards.
