Overview:

This course is an in depth study of the short story genre.  Students will be expected to write, critique and discuss a variety of short stories and their components.  Assignments range from creative voice to essays to research.  It’s all about short stories, hence the name of the class.

Materials:

Pen

Folder

Marble Notebook, because retro is cool

Conduct:

You’re seniors now.  Behave accordingly.

All school wide rules will be enforced, including the ban on cell phones and the restriction of backpacks.

Grading:

90% Class work/Homework

10% Conduct

·      All assignments are to be handed in within the designated window.  Failure to do so will result in the deduction of points.

Final:

The final consists of a portfolio review.  Each student is expected to keep an up to date portfolio that includes all completed assignments.
