Weather Closing Procedures
The District utilizes Blackboard (phone/text/email) mass notification system along with our Facebook social media site to alert families. Please assist us in getting emergency information to you as quickly and accurately as possible.
Our contact system is based upon the information within the eSchool student/parent portal. You can edit or add your family's information in two ways. First, you can contact Mrs. Kim Kwiatkowski via email firstname.lastname@example.org. Or you can visit the parent portal link on the front page of the District website: Parent/Student Portal (eSchool).
The District will utilize “Snow Days” in this year's calendar. We will not shift to remote instruction on emergency weather related days unless we exceed the minimal amount of required attendance days per State regulations.
School Closing Information
The safety of students and staff is the primary consideration when making a decision to close school. Frequent factors for canceling school are often related to poor road conditions and bad weather reports, which are closely monitored by the Superintendent and Transportation Department.
Should the decision be made to close school due to inclement weather, every effort is made to announce the closing by 6:30 am. An announcement call will go out to all parents in the District along with a posting on the District website and a broadcast on radio and TV stations. In the event that emergency closings cause attendance days to fall below State requirements, the following days will become attendance days in this order: Feb. 24, 23, 22, 21 and April 3, 2023.
Parents and students are encouraged to tune in to any of the following radio stations for school closing information: WBEN-AM (930), WBFO-FM (88.7), WKSE-FM (98.5), WTSS (STAR 102.5). Announcements will also be made on TV stations 2, 4, and 7.
