Student Instructions for Google Classroom-- Kevin Sheffield
**First for those still not in yet, the Google Classroom code is posted on my teacher webpage and here:
Our Google Classroom codes:
Pd 1 -- US History -- ga3ajcm
Pd 2 -- US History -- anqg2af
Pd 6/7 -- US History -- 5oxkybi
Pd 8/9 -- US History -- nya3gab
Pd 11 -- US History -- b43ql3q
After you are in the selected classroom, you will see tabs at the top of your screen: STREAM/CLASSWORK/PEOPLE/GRADES
If you click CLASSWORK you should see everything broken into topics (or categories).
For example, some of my categories are: by chapter
You will need to click on the assignment your teacher has asked you to complete. Next to the assignments will be a due date and a time so you can stay on top of the assignments.
The assignment icon looks like a note pad. When this icon is present you will have a box on the right-hand side of your screen that says +ADD or CREATE, under that will be a button labeled MARK AS DONE, and under that a private comment box (this will allow you to talk with your teacher and your teacher only).
If you are on a phone or tablet you can still do this, but you would need both the Google Classroom App and the Google Docs App. installed. (When you enter an assignment on a phone or tablet device at the bottom of the assignment will be an ATTACH button, then you click NEW DOC and a new google doc will open.)
After you have completed the assignment from the google docs window you will click TURN IN and it will turn in the document; for the phone/tablet, it will be a checkmark.
If you are the type of person who prefers Microsoft word that’s fine too. From your COMPUTER you will click +ADD or CREATE and then instead of creating a new google doc file you will select ADD FILES FROM MY COMPUTER (find where you saved the file, attach it) then click TURN IN
All files should still contain your first and last name as well as class period, even though they are being submitted electronically. I might need to print them out for your parents or Administration to show why you earned a certain grade.
YOU GOT THIS!
