Policies and Procedures
Students come to the library for one class period per week. For students in grades kindergarten to third grade, this is a 35 minute period. For students in grade four and five, this is a 50 minute period. Students in kindergarten take one book and keep it in their classroom. Their teacher allows them to look at it at various times during the week. First grade students take one book that they should take it home. Hopefully, Mom, Dad, or older sibling will read the book with them. Students in grades two and three take 2 books. Students in grades 4 and 5 take 3 books, more if they are researching a specific topic. These students may also borrow a magazine.
All of our students need to be responsible in caring for their library books and returning them on their library day. The book(s) is due on the child's library day. A replacement fee is required for any lost or damaged book. A letter will be sent home at the end of the school year notifying parents of any replacement cost incurred due to lost or damaged books.
In library we stress how important it is to have a safe place to keep library books at home! Keep books out of reach pets and babies! Keep books away from food and drinks! Our library books are for everyone to borrow, read and enjoy!
