Classroom Behavior
We have 2 behavior management models in our classroom.
* The students are seated in groups and receive team points when an entire group is working together and following the rules.
* At the end of each week the winning group gets to pick from the prize box.
The second model is based solely upon the choices and responsibilities of each student.
* If a classroom rule is broken, the student is asked to move their clip to green and this is considered a warning.
* If the student breaks a classroom rule a second time they are asked to move their clip to yellow and this is a loss of 5 minutes of free time.
*If the student needs to be spoken to a 3rd time about inappropriate behavior their clip is moved to red. This is a total loss of free time and a form completed by the student is sent home explaining the events of the day that led to this consequence. The form needs to be signed by a parent and or guardian and returned to school the next day.
** Sending a form home regarding inappropriate behavior is a rare occasion and should be taken as a serious offense. I ask all students to uphold the rules of our classroom during the entire school day, this includes during specials and lunch. If these rules are broken during one of the times where the students are in the care of another teacher/adult, the same consequences are applied when they return to the classroom.
