• Skill Review for the week of March 23, 2020

This week we will review reading, writing, and comparing decimals.

Get a deck of cards. Take out all the aces and face cards.  (If you don't have a deck of cards then just create your own cards of 1 through 10!)  You can do each activity every day or pick a few to do each day.

    1.  Pick two cards.  Create a hundredth decimal.  Read the decimal.  Repeat 5 times.  As a challenge pick four cards and create decimals that have whole numbers, tenths, hundredths, or thousandths.  For example, if I pick the numbers 4, 7, 3, and 9, I can create the number 7.945.  I would read it as 7 and 9 hundred forty five thousandths.

    2.  Pick three cards.  Create a thousandths decimal.  Pick another three cards.  Create another thousandths decimal.  Compare the decimals using <, >, and +. Read the number sentence out loud.  Repeat 5 times.  For a challenge, create numbers using 4 cards.  Put the decimal wherever you want!

    3.  Using the numbers you created above, round the decimals to the nearest tenth, hundredth, and/or thousandth!
