Degrees and Certifications:

Mrs. Piraino

Hello! My name is Mrs. Katelyn Piraino and I am a 2010 graduate of Buffalo State College. I hold both a B.S. and an MS. Ed degree in childhood education and childhood special education, as well as dual certifications and licenses to teach in the state of New York. I have been teaching full-time at Frontier since 2016, but originally began my journey at Frontier as a long-term substitute teacher in early 2015. Prior to joining the Frontier family, I taught at Buffalo Public Schools for four and a half years. I absolutely live to teach! I love watching my students problem-solve and grow throughout the school year. Those “ah-ha” moments are very special and recognized in our classroom. I fully believe in learning through our (marvelous) mistakes and encourage learners to take risks! Outside of the classroom, I enjoy spending time with my family: my husband, my 19-year-old daughter (Katrina), and our pooch, Reba. I love to travel, go shopping, enjoy delicious food, and read a good book. I look forward to working with my students and their families this year!
