• Rules & Expectations for Physical Education Class

    Key Rules:

    3. Be Respectful & Responsible
    4. Have Fun

     

    Extended Rules:

    • Personal Space.
    • Stay inside the boundaries.
    • Follow Directions the first time.
    • Follow rules of activity.
    • EFFORT/FUN: It’s supposed to be fun.
      • Do your best
      • Try to “win.” Just remember, you can hold your head up if you gave your best effort.
    • Treat each other with respect.
      • Sneakers with rubber sole.
      • Shoes tied. Move outside the boundaries to tie.
    • Other: No swearing. No jewelry. No food or gum.

     

     Consequences:

          Choosing to break any of the PE rules will result in any or all of the following consequences:

    • A Warning
    • Timeout: Think about the decision you made and refocus
    • Written Timeout: A written reflection or writing assignment must be completed before returning to activity.
    • Phone Call home
    • Discipline Referral to Principal’s office.

     

    Excuses:

           1. If a student is not to participate in class due to illness/injury, s/he is

               to bring a note from parent/guardian/nurse.

           2. If a student is to be excused for more than 2 consecutive days, a

              doctor's note is required.

           3. If a student is to be limited in participation, a doctor's note is

               required.

      Miscellaneous

          1. No jewelry or gum (safety.) You can store jewelry in drop box near gym doors at your own risk.

          2. Anytime there is an injury, notify the teacher

          3. Lost and found located in or near the physical education offices.

          4. If something is stolen during class, notify teacher(s). The potential for lost items will be reduced by locking items in your hallway locker.

     

    REQUIRED MATERIALS

    Appropriate attire is clothing that allows the body to move freely during activity. Proper attire consists of:

    • shorts and/or sweatpants
    • Shirts: Tee shirt and/or sweatshirt (no spaghetti straps, no tank tops, no halter tops.)
    • Sneakers (Any student without sneakers CANNOT participate)
    • Grade K-3 are NOT required to change clothing for P.E.
    • Grade 4 & 5 are required to change clothing for P.E.
