    Infer:  Good readers "read between the lines"  and draw conclusions based on background knowledge and clues in the text.

    Determine Importance:  Good readers look for the "Big Idea" and identify the main idea and supporting details of the text.

    Synthesize:  Good readers use what they have read to create their own ideas.
