The Frontier Board of Education passed a resolution to officially rename the Frontier High School library media center in honor of longtime educator David Ceccarelli. Moving forward, the space will be known as the David F. Ceccarelli Media Center. The dedication officially took effect on Tuesday, September 1st, following a vote at the Frontier School Board meeting.
Mr. Ceccarelli was a cornerstone of the Frontier community, serving as an English teacher in the district for 37 years. Sadly, he passed away this past year after a courageous battle with cancer related health issues.
Frontier Central School District Superintendent Christopher J. Swiatek praised the decision, stating, “It’s a special moment where we ultimately honor the service, the efforts, and the professionalism that Mr. Ceccarelli showed for the Frontier Central School District for many, many years."
Frontier Board of Education President Dr. Mary Ann Costello shared that naming the media center after Mr. Ceccarelli is a deeply fitting tribute, noting his lifelong commitment to preparation, knowledge and thorough research.
“He never just came out with ‘Well, I think we should do this,’” Costello remarked. “He really researched what he was thinking and always had a great presentation.”
Board Vice President John Cordier also shared his reflection on the dedication.
“I can’t think of a better honor for somebody like Dave, who I would say I was a friend for 40 years. He was the best teacher I ever knew,” Cordier said.
By naming the media center after Mr. Ceccarelli, his legacy of academic excellence, careful study, and dedication to Frontier students will continue to inspire everyone who walks through its doors.
