Dear Frontier Staff and Community Members,
Earlier today, the Frontier Central School District received an anonymous threat referencing a potential explosive device on the exterior of Frontier High School. Approximately 10-15 school districts in the Buffalo and Rochester areas were affected. Any threat made against the Frontier Central School District is always taken extremely seriously and is thoroughly investigated. The safety of our students, staff and community is of utmost importance.
Out of an abundance of caution, district administrators immediately implemented established safety protocols and contacted law enforcement. The Hamburg Police Department responded promptly, and in coordination with the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives (ATF) conducted a comprehensive investigation. This included a building sweep utilizing trained detection dogs along with a drone overwatch conducted by the HPD. We are grateful for the swift and professional response of our law enforcement partners.
Following the investigation, law enforcement officials determined that there was no credible threat to our facilities or school community, and no explosive device was found. While situations like this can be unsettling, please be assured that the District will always act decisively to protect our school community.
Thank you for your continued cooperation, trust and support of the Frontier Central School District.
Sincerely,
Christopher Swiatek
Superintendent of Schools
Frontier Central School District
