Trombone Player Concert

The Frontier High School Bands will present their Guest Artist Concert Tuesday (October 28) at 7 p.m. at the Frontier High School Auditorium.

Jonathan Lombardo, the principal trombonist of the Buffalo Philharmonic Orchestra, along with the Fredonia Trombone Choir (a group consisting of 24 trombone players from SUNY Fredonia) will be featured.

In addition, the concert will feature trombone players from schools throughout the Frontier Central School District. The finale will include 57 trombonists all playing together.

All guests must enter through door 8 at the High School. Tickets are $5 for single tickets, and $10 for household tickets. Tickets can be purchased presale in cash through either Mr. Warren or Mr. Riederer at the High School.

Lombardo has been principal trombonist of the Buffalo Philharmonic Orchestra since 2005. He has also performed with the Boston, Baltimore, Detroit, Chautauqua, Cincinnati, Pittsburgh, Rochester, San Antonio, Sarasota and Syracuse orchestras.

Lombardo received his Bachelor’s Degree in Music from the Juilliard School. He also received a Master’s Degree from the University at Buffalo in Music Performance, with an emphasis in Conducting.

He is also a Professor of Trombone at SUNY Fredonia. He has also been on the faculty at the University at Buffalo and Interlochen Center for the Arts. You can hear Lombardo on dozens of recordings with the Buffalo Philharmonic Orchestra. In his free time, he enjoys woodworking, cooking and spending time with his wife, daughter and two corgis.
