    April 29, 2020

    Effective May 12, we will be moving our lunch operations from our Middle School location to our Cloverbank Elementary location, 2761 Cloverbank Road, Hamburg. Notices will go home in lunches soon.

    No meals will be served Monday, May 11, but will be doubled up on Friday, May 8. In addition the emergency meal service will be closed Friday, May 22 and Monday, May 25 for Memorial Day. Additional meals will be provided May 21.

    In accordance with Governor Cuomo's announcement, school will be closed until May 15, 2020. Meals will continue to be provided. If you have questions regarding the COVID-19 closure, please call our Assistance Hotline at 926-1799.

    Dear Frontier Parents and Guardians:

    As we continue to adjust to a new normal, I hope that this letter finds you and your loved ones safe and healthy. While we do not know when social distancing and school closures will end, our teachers, principals and Department of Curriculum and Instruction continue to work to extend learning into the home. As we continue to work together to navigate the challenging times, we would like to provide you with important updates and guidance. In the future, we strongly encourage you to visit our district webpage (www.frontiercsd.org) regularly for important information, as this will be our primary channel of communication.

    Governor Cuomo has issued a series of executive orders during the pandemic. As a result, Governor Cuomo has control over when schools may reopen. Governor Cuomo has extended school closures through May 15th. During the closure, schools are required to provide remote learning opportunities including during what would have been the traditional Spring break recess (April 10th through April 17th). It is also important to note that all NYS 3-8 Assessments, Regents exams, and NYSESLAT have been cancelled for the 19-20 academic year. We will be working with our guidance counselors and principals to determine where each student stands. It is critical that they continue to complete class work as required by their teachers as this will be used to determine whether a student receives a passing or failing grade for each course. From the standpoint of student grading, important changes and information related to both the elementary report card and the middle and high school method of grading for the third and fourth quarters have been posted on our district webpage.

    With regard to instruction, our administrators and teachers have been working collaboratively to develop the next phase of our Continuity of Learning Plan. As you know, the first set of instructional materials that was developed and distributed focused on a review and practice with content previously learned. Online resources and materials currently being developed will now focus on new learning across content areas and grade levels. This is set to begin the week of April 20th. Our K-12 Continuity of Learning Plan will encompass a variety of web-based instructional tools and programs, including Google Classroom and use of Google Meet for virtual meetings. Teachers will communicate the plan to their students prior to April 20th. As we continue down this new path of distance learning, please understand that it has been a learning experience for all of us. We are committed to working with our students and families in order to maintain continuity of instruction for our students, while respecting the challenges and demands this may place on parents/guardians. A variety of resources, guidance documents and extension activities will be posted on our district website. If you have questions regarding your child's learning plan, please first contact his/her teacher and then the principal. If you still do not receive a satisfactory response, please contact our Assistant Superintendent of Instruction, Mrs. Duggan as she is overseeing the learning plan during this time.

    Meal distribution will continue to occur Monday through Friday at Blasdell Elementary School, Frontier Middle School and Frontier High School from 9:00 a.m. to 2 p.m. Please note that we will not be distributing food on Friday, April 10th or on Monday, April 13th. Instead, we will "double up" on meals on Thursday, April 9th. Our meal program will resume as normal on Tuesday, April 14th.

As we continue to adjust to changes caused by the pandemic, it's critical that we continue working together. Life will get back to normal soon enough as long as we all do our part.

    New Time for Meal Pickup

    Effective Monday, March 23, 2020 - Please note our change in food pickup time. In order to accomodate the need in our school community, it will now be 9:00 AM - 2:00 PM all 3 sites.
