Foreshadowing - a hint in the story of what will happen later.
Biography - the story of someone else's life.
Romantic - style of literature and art that emphasizes imagination,
hope, possibility, heroes, emotion, and ideals.
Cask - a large barrel used to hold wine.
Amontillado - a kind of Spanish wine; in this story, a rare and fancy one
Revenge - to punish for perceived wrong-doing
Stanza - a "paragraph" in a poem
Verse - a line in a poem
Spanish Inquisition - a period in history when the rulers of Spain were
